The following is an excerpt from "WATER SCOUTS and Other C.A. Clark Baits" circa 1984, out-of-print. In the 1930's and 40's, Mr. Ab Saint, of Tulsa, Oklahoma developed an extensive business by fitting his deep-diving lips (later taken over by the HEDDON Co. and utilized on the "Go-Deeper" baits) on various lures. WATER SCOUTS were apparently one of these baits and can be easily identified - by a Go-Deeper style lip set in a groove cut in the nose of the plug. |
